The State of Utah developed a 280-acre site to construct a new prison complex to replace the 3,980 bed Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah. The new facility was designed to meet the current and future needs of the agency in terms of capacity and inmate populations served. Spectrum provided electrical engineering, and key project requirements include: 138kV redundant substation, 12.5kV underground distribution system, SCADA system, 12.5kV emergency generator system integrated in campus distribution system, fault current study, arc flash study, and coordination study.
